Billing and plans
Billing is org-scoped. A User does not hold a personal retail plan. The active org’s plan, seats, content grants, and usage pools are what search and reading use — never a union across orgs.
List prices, pack SKUs, and the commercial FAQ live on Pricing. This page does not repeat those numbers.
Tiers
An org is on one tier:
| Tier | Research | Projects, stars, comments |
|---|---|---|
| Free | Entitled search and body opens | No |
| Trial | Same, with Pro features | Yes |
| Basic | Entitled search and body opens | No |
| Pro | Entitled search and body opens | Yes |
Trial is once per org. It is short, one seat, and cannot buy credit packs. When trial ends without paid checkout, the org is Free.
Paid Basic and Pro can add seats and combine curated packs with à la carte buckets and courts (including All jurisdictions). There is no all-buckets plan. Free activates curated packs in the product after org create — not on this page.
Who can pay
Owners checkout, change plan, add seats, and buy credit packs (where the tier allows). Members may open Billing and see usage (remaining pools, credits, tier, period end, content grants). They do not see invoices or the payment method, and they never get a pay button.
Billing for the active org is /org/…/billing. Every member can follow Billing from Org home; the Members page links Billing for Owners only.
Charges are INR. Checkout adds GST. Currency and tax detail stay on Pricing and Refund.
Periods, pools, and credits
Paid and Free orgs run on a billing period — every 28 days or every 364 days. Trial is its own short window. Unused included pool does not roll over.
Views (distinct judgement body opens) and PDF downloads are org-level meters. Search does not take a view. Opening or downloading the same judgement again in the same period does not take another unit. There is no overage: after the included pool, spend that meter’s credits, or the action is blocked.
Credit packs are one meter each (views or PDFs), do not expire, and survive a lapse to Free. Free can buy credits; Trial cannot. Pool size does not multiply by seat count.
Multi-org
If you belong to several orgs, switch in the header org menu. The next request uses only that org’s snapshot. The same judgement opened in two orgs counts on each org’s ledger separately.
