Refund & Cancellation

Effective 1 May 2026

This page is the money policy for Law1 (https://law1.in). The Terms of Service point here for cancel, lapse, credits, invoices, and refund. Do not treat any other page as a second money policy.

The contracting party is LAWONE SOLUTIONS PRIVATE LIMITED (we, us, Law1). Registered office: 2nd Floor, A417, Lane 4, Road no 28, Ramnagar, Wagle Estate, MH, 400604, India. CIN: U58122MR2026PTC481366.

The Org is the billing entity. Only the Owner may start checkout, buy or change seats or credit packs, cancel or resume a paid plan, or change the payment method. Members inherit the Org’s entitlements. They do not hold a separate retail subscription.

1. What you buy

You buy digital entitlements — access to the Law1 research service for that Org (a tier, named seats, content grants, included view and PDF pools, and prepaid credits). You do not buy physical goods. There is no courier. Delivery of this digital service is described on Shipping & Delivery.

Charges are in Indian rupees (INR) only. Taxable charges attract 18% GST. If the Org’s Indian state is the same as our merchant state, that 18% is CGST and SGST equally. If it is a different Indian state, that 18% is IGST. Place of supply is the Org’s Indian state. See Shipping & Delivery.

List prices, pack sizes, and other commercial numbers are on Pricing, not on this page. What you pay for a charge is the amount shown at checkout for that charge.

There is no automatic overage bill. After an included pool is used up, further reads spend prepaid view or PDF credits, or they are blocked. We do not add a silent usage charge at period end.

We may also grant entitlements under a separately agreed offline arrangement. Our Accounts team may put an Org on manual billing. Those entitlements still sit on the Org and still follow this page unless a separately signed agreement says otherwise for that subject.

2. Trial

A trial may be available. The trial period is shown in the product and on Pricing.

A trial never auto-charges. You cannot buy credit packs during a trial.

When the trial ends without the Owner checking out a paid plan, the Org becomes Free. In the product that is day 8. Free can buy credit packs. A later paid plan starts only if the Owner checks out.

3. Paid plans — cancel and resume

Paid plans renew for the monthly or yearly interval the Owner chose until the Owner cancels in the product.

If the Owner cancels:

  • the Org stays paid until the end of the current paid period;
  • we do not charge again for the next period;
  • there is no cash refund of the current period, or of any earlier period;
  • cancelling does not add a separate cancellation fee;
  • the Owner may resume the same paid plan, on the same payment mandate, until the end of that period.

At the end of the period we skip the next charge, the paid grants end, the Org moves to Free modules, and we revoke the payment mandate.

Cancel in the product is how the Owner stops regular payments. Members cannot cancel.

4. Failed payment, lapse, and mandate pause

If a recurring charge fails, or the payment mandate is paused or revoked (including a UPI Autopay pause or revoke in the UPI app), that is one shot. We do not retry the next day.

Paid grants end immediately. The Org moves to Free modules.

The Org keeps:

  • unused view credits;
  • unused PDF credits;
  • any INR account credit.

To return to a paid plan after a lapse, the Owner starts a new checkout. A new paid period starts when that charge succeeds.

5. Credit packs

Credit packs are prepaid view and PDF credits. They do not expire.

The Owner may buy credit packs on Free (never-paid or lapsed) and on paid Basic or Pro. Not on Trial.

There is no self-serve refund of a credit pack.

Accounts may refund unused packs, and will keep an audit record. That decision is ours. If we issue such a refund, it is of the amount actually charged for the unused pack, and we will document it as GST law requires. We do not promise a turnaround time.

6. Mid-cycle changes and INR account credit

Only the Owner may change tier, seats, content grants, or interval mid-cycle.

A mid-cycle catalogue change takes effect immediately after the additional charge shown at checkout succeeds. If that charge fails, the catalogue does not change.

You cannot reduce the seat count below the number of people already in the Org. The Owner must remove members first, then reduce seats.

Switching monthly ↔ yearly starts a new paid period at the successful charge.

A change that stays on the same interval (monthly to monthly, or yearly to yearly) — seats, packs, or tier — keeps the current period end.

On a downgrade, unused remainder of what was already paid becomes INR account credit on the Org. It is not cash. It is not view or PDF credit.

On an upgrade, checkout may show a further charge. That charge is what you pay if you confirm.

INR account credit is applied to the pre-tax amount of a later charge. We then compute 18% GST on the reduced taxable amount. If credit covers the whole pre-tax amount, we do not take a collector charge, and the entitlements still change.

INR account credit stays on the Org if the plan lapses or is cancelled. It is not paid out in cash.

7. Org delete

The Owner may delete the Org in the product.

Org delete does not produce a cash refund. Remaining entitlements, view credits, PDF credits, and INR account credit end with the Org. They are not paid out.

We retain tax invoices and other records we must keep by law.

Deleting a User account does not, by itself, cancel the Org’s paid plan or delete the Org.

8. GST invoices and collector receipts

Tax invoices are issued through Zoho Books. The Owner can list them in the product.

A receipt or acknowledgement from the payment collector (Razorpay, in this version of the Service) is proof of payment only. It is not a tax invoice.

In this version of the Service, the payment collector is Razorpay. A chargeback or payment-system dispute does not replace this policy. Write to us first at [email protected]. Razorpay’s own terms apply to how the payment is collected.

9. How to cancel or ask Accounts

Cancel, resume, seats, packs, checkout, and payment-method change — Owner only, in the product, while signed in to that Org.

Accounts (unused-pack refund, offline licence, or a billing question we cannot settle in the product) — write to [email protected] or use Contact. Say you are the Owner and name the Org.

There is no support, uptime, or refund-processing service-level agreement. We do not offer service credits.

For a statutory grievance, use Grievance officer. We do not use a separate grievance@ address.

10. Consumer rights

Law1 is offered primarily as a professional research tool for Orgs.

If you are a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, nothing on this page takes away a right that Act does not allow us to take away. That includes a non-excludable right that may arise if the service is deficient or is not as we advertised or agreed.

This page is not a 7-day or 30-day cooling-off return. Unused time after a cancel, and credit packs after a self-serve buy, are not refunded in cash except as section 5 (Accounts, unused packs) says.

11. Changes

We may change this page. A material change will have a new effective date here. We will give notice by email and in the product.

This version of the Service does not require you to tick again after a change. If you continue to use the Service after that notice, you accept the changed policy. If you do not agree, stop using the Service. The Owner should cancel or delete as appropriate. Cancel and delete do not create a cash refund except as this page says.
