Getting started

Law1 is legal research for Indian case law. You search, read, and organise work inside an org. This page is docs only: it points into the product. Pack choice, trial, and checkout stay in the app — not here.

Create a User

You need a User before you can research. There is no password.

  • Start free — Continue with Google, or follow the inbound-email how-to on that page ([email protected]).
  • Log in — Google or a one-time code to an email that already has a User.

A User is not an org. Google and inbound signup create a User only.

Create or join an org

Research, meters, and billing belong to an org. Until you have one, signed-in research routes send you to Start.

On Start you can create an org (you become Owner) or join one if you have an invite. Creating another org later is a dialog in the org menu, not a second Start page.

You may belong to more than one org, but you can only add a Free or Trial membership if you do not already have one. Paid orgs do not have that cap.

Find your way around

After you have an org, the app wordmark and post-login landing go to that org’s Org home (/org/…): projects, recent comments, and links to Members and Billing.

From the header:

  • Issues — search extracted points of law
  • Judgements — search whole opinions
  • Cases — browse the all-case list
  • Projects — that org’s project list

Account is under the avatar menu: email, sessions, and delete. It is not a public profile.
