Case and content removal

Effective 1 May 2026

This page says when Law1 will unpublish or redact a judgment or order we host, and when we will remove User content or our editorial. It is an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000. It does not need a physical or digital signature.

The Terms of Service are the contract. This page states the removal rules those Terms point to. It does not replace the Terms. It does not set a second money policy, liability cap, or dispute clause.

1. Who we are

LAWONE SOLUTIONS PRIVATE LIMITED (we, us, Law1, or Lawone Solutions Pvt Ltd) operates the Law1 legal-research service at https://law1.in (the Service).

Registered office: 2nd Floor, A417, Lane 4, Road no 28, Ramnagar, Wagle Estate, MH, 400604, India. CIN: U58122MR2026PTC481366.

Other legal pages: Legal hub.

This page is not a second Privacy Policy. Erasing account data you gave us is that page, not this one. A name in a published court or tribunal order is a public record. Asking us to take that order down is not a DPDP erasure of personal data you gave us.

2. Words we use

  • Unpublish — the URL is gone (HTTP 404 or 410) and we drop it from our sitemaps.
  • Redact — the URL stays; identity strings in the text are replaced.
  • Deindex — the URL stays; search engines are told to drop it. We do not offer deindex. It is not a public remedy on Law1.

3. Why judgments are on Law1

Judgments and orders we host are public records. Courts and tribunals publish them. We do not claim copyright in the raw judgment as delivered by the court. Reproduction of a judgment or order as allowed by section 52(1)(q) of the Copyright Act, 1957 is not something we purport to take away. See the Terms of Service (section 9).

Our hosting of a judgment is not a certified copy. We may be delayed or incomplete relative to the court or the gazette. Verify before you rely. See the Disclaimer.

A name that appears in a published order does not become private because it is on Law1. We are one copy among others. Taking our page down does not take the court record down.

4. Section A — Judgments and orders

Section A is only about the judgment or order itself. Nothing in Section B takes a judgment URL down.

A1. Unpublish or modify — competent court order only

We will not unpublish or modify a judgment or order without an order of a court competent to direct us.

We do not offer a private “right to be forgotten” for a person named in a public order. That includes an assessee named in an ITAT, High Court, or other tax order. There is no private tax-research unpublish right. Write to us with a competent court order, or do not expect the order to come down.

If a competent court orders us to unpublish, we will unpublish: the URL returns 404 or 410, and we drop it from our sitemaps. If the order directs a change short of taking the URL down, we will do what it directs.

A2. Statutory redaction — no court order, two lists only

Without a court order we will redact identity in an order we host, and only on the two lists below. We do not unpublish the order on these grounds. The URL stays.

List 1 — sexual-offence victim identity. We will redact identity strings of the victim where the order is under:

  • sections 376, 376A–D, or 354 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, or the corresponding provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (sections 64, 66, 67, 68, 70, or 74); or
  • the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.

List 2 — juvenile identity. We will redact identity particulars protected by section 74 of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, unless a Board or Committee has permitted that disclosure.

We will not, without a court order, redact a PAN, Aadhaar number, GSTIN, or any other identifier, or a name, merely because a person is named in the order.

5. Section B — User content and our editorial

Section B never takes a judgment URL down. Removing a comment, an upload, a headnote, or a Law1 citation does not unpublish the order.

B1. User content

User content is material you or the Org submit — including project names and notes, comments, stars, and, when we offer them, uploads.

Comments and similar notes are visible to Members of the Org. They are not a public forum.

We may remove or restrict User content on notice, including where the Acceptable Use Policy is broken or the law requires it. That is not a judgment unpublish.

B2. Our editorial

Headnotes, extracted issues, Law1 citations, and our selection and arrangement are our editorial, not the court’s. See the Terms of Service (section 9).

We may correct or unpublish our editorial without a court order. That does not take the judgment down.

6. How to request

Email [email protected]. Put Case and content removal in the subject. Paste the template below. Attach the court order if you have one.

There is no dedicated form. Do not use Contact for this — that form has no removal category. A grievance about personal data or User content is a different path. If you send a judgment request as a grievance, we will handle it under this page.

We may need to verify that the request comes from you. Do not send passwords or one-time codes.

There is no support or turnaround service-level agreement on this page. Telling us does not create a duty to act on any timetable.

7. What we will not do

  • Deindex a URL as a public offer. We will not tell Google, Yahoo, or any other search engine to drop a page as a remedy you can request here. We will not describe robots.txt or search-console blocking as something we offer.
  • Run a family-law Google-block or deindex programme (divorce, maintenance, adoption, or custody).
  • Unpublish a judgment or order because an assessee, or anyone else named in it, wants it forgotten. That includes ITAT, High Court, and other tax orders. Private right to be forgotten is refused.
  • Redact a PAN, Aadhaar number, GSTIN, or “any named individual” without a court order, except the two statutory identity lists in Section A2.
  • Treat a DPDP erasure of account data as a judgment takedown. Use the Privacy Policy for account data.
