Cookie Policy

Effective 5 September 2026

This page describes the cookies used on the Law1 legal-research service at https://law1.in (the Service). It is an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000. It does not need a physical or digital signature.

It is not a service-level agreement. It does not set a money policy.

Personal data in these cookies is also covered by the Privacy Policy. How the contract works is in the Terms of Service.

1. Who we are

LAWONE SOLUTIONS PRIVATE LIMITED (we, us, Law1, or Lawone Solutions Pvt Ltd) operates the Service.

Registered office: 2nd Floor, A417, Lane 4, Road no 28, Ramnagar, Wagle Estate, MH, 400604, India. CIN: U58122MR2026PTC481366.

We are the data fiduciary for personal data we process for the Service.

Questions: [email protected] or Contact. Grievance: Grievance officer. Other legal pages: Legal hub.

2. What this page is

This is a notice. India is notice-first. This page is not an EU cookie wall. We do not block the Service, and we do not wait for a category-by-category opt-in, before strictly necessary or analytics cookies may be set.

We do not treat a tick on our Terms as consent to cookies.

3. Two categories

We use cookies in two categories only. There is no marketing category in this version of the Service.

Strictly necessary. We set these without waiting. The cookie notice must not gate them. They keep you signed in, remember that you dismissed the notice, and remember whether analytics is on or off.

Analytics. We set these on the first public visit, with no wait. Analytics is on by default. You can turn it off on this page and in account settings.

The only analytics product we use is Google Analytics 4. It is not an advertising product. Google is our processor for that measurement. We name Google on the Privacy Policy as well.

We do not use advertising cookies or extra trackers.

4. Cookies we use

NameCategoryDurationPurpose
Better Auth session (__Secure-…)Strictly necessarySession / 7 daysKeep you signed in. Not gated on the cookie notice.
law1_cookie_noticeStrictly necessary12 monthsRemember that you dismissed the cookie notice.
law1_analyticsStrictly necessary12 monthsRemember whether analytics is on or off (0 means off).
_gaAnalyticsUp to 24 months (GA4 default)Distinguish visitors.
_ga_<MEASUREMENT_ID>AnalyticsUp to 24 months (GA4 default)Persist the Google Analytics 4 session.

5. Google sign-in on Log in and Start free

Signed-out Log in and Start free may load Google Identity Services (including One Tap and FedCM) from accounts.google.com. That script may set cookies or use the browser credential manager. Those are Google’s. They are not the Law1 session cookie in the table above, and they are not Google Analytics 4.

We do not put them in our cookie table. The Analytics cookies control does not turn them off. They load only on those two pages, and only when Google sign-in is available.

Continue with Google (the button) is a redirect to Google. It does not need that script.

6. YouTube on public pages

Public pages may embed YouTube with click-to-load on youtube-nocookie.com. We do not request YouTube until you choose to play. Cookies the player sets are Google’s. They are not in the table above, they are not the Law1 session cookie, and they are not Google Analytics 4.

We do not put them in our cookie table. The Analytics cookies control does not block play. There is no marketing category.

7. The notice

On a first visit we show a non-blocking notice. It does not cover the page or stop you using the Service. It does not gate auth session cookies. Those cookies are set when you sign in, whether or not you have seen or dismissed the notice.

The notice has a short line, a link to this page, and OK.

OK only records that you dismissed the notice (law1_cookie_notice). It does not turn analytics on — analytics is already on — and it is not an opt-in. The analytics cookie _ga is set on the first public visit. You do not have to wait, and you do not have to press OK, before that happens.

8. How to withdraw

Analytics is disclosed processing. You can withdraw with comparable ease (Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, section 6(4)).

Use the Analytics cookies control on this page, or the same control in account settings.

Off means:

  • we remember the choice as law1_analytics=0;
  • we expire _ga and related _ga_* cookies;
  • we stop sending analytics from the browser; and
  • we stop sending product events from our servers.

The choice sticks to that browser only (the cookie). We do not store it on your User. If you turn analytics off on a laptop, a phone you also use can still have it on. If you clear cookies, analytics comes back on (the default) until you turn it off again.

Turning analytics off does not sign you out, does not stop strictly necessary cookies, does not stop Google One Tap on Log in or Start free, and does not stop a YouTube video you choose to play.

9. What we measure — and what we do not

When you are signed out. Coarse page views.

When you are signed in. Page views and product events — for example sign-in and search — without the text of the query. Google may receive a user identifier and, if you have an active Org, an org identifier.

We never send as event parameters: your email, the typed search query, a billing legal name, or a GSTIN.

The page title we send may contain case names. We send the path only. We strip the query string.

We do not measure administration pages (/admin).

Google Analytics 4 retains event-level measurement for 14 months.

10. Google and processing outside India

Google may process Analytics measurement, Google sign-in (including One Tap), and YouTube embeds you choose to play outside India. We do not claim that personal data never leaves India. We will not transfer personal data to a country or territory the Central Government restricts under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
